about me

They say life is the greatest teacher, right?

I was born to a dad that had the soul of an entrepreneur. From my earliest memories, I was inventorying his small store, helping him pack orders and visiting with customers. He was a master at connection and application, and I always admired him for it.

I took that foundation and used it in my first professional career as a high school Family and Consumer Sciences teacher for almost 15 years. I never saw myself working outside of the classroom, but God unfolded different passions for me, and reminded me of old ones, as we walked into our own business.

When my husband and I became co-owners Shadow Creek Pumpkin Farm in 2017, I had no idea what I was doing, but familiar lessons from my childhood and time in the classroom building relationships and trust came rushing back. The biggest mountain to climb wasn’t loving people or what we were doing…it was establishing an online presence and building a brand that was relatable and trustworthy. I didn’t bring technology expertise with me…but I was eager to learn since our budget was so small. I was blessed to have access to women that had come before me, and shared their knowledge and time generously with a little marketing/PR newbie. Most small businesses do not start with large marketing budgets, which is my PASSION #1 - to help businesses, groups and brands create a simple, online presence that helps them start their journey. Even if your company is established, but you want to refine what you’re doing and desire to connect with customers in meaningful ways, our services are custom built to meet the needs you identify in your own business. There are SO MANY dreamers and big ideas out there, but it can be overwhelming to get started, and to refine what you’re offering. Next comes my PASSION #2 - cultivating a community around the dream in your mind and heart. In this amazing era of technology, authentic communication can get lost. This need lends itself to my PASSION #3 - helping create clear, compassionate communication, within a business and the communication presented to the world.

As for my real-life experience, I helped build a successful online presence and following for our family-owned business; from nothing to an organic audience of over 45,000, have helped multiple small businesses in our community take the jump to get started, have worked with crisis communication and building business communication structures within existing businesses, assisted in multiple local election campaigns and I engage in volunteer work for non profits close to my heart. I definitely don’t know it all, but I deeply value connection and seeing others succeed.

I love helping dreamers bring dreams to reality, and I’d love the opportunity to walk that road with you.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:34-35
